Nicole Anne Weldy is a professional artist and educator working out of her studio in Mason, Ohio.

Her lace structures are an exploration of art, science, technology, and craft. The lace designs are handcrafted using a 1.5 mm crochet hook. Then specific areas undergo casting and mold-making with resin and silicone, converting the fabric drapery into a rigid form.

The work explores the complexities of material transformation in the physical world, where craftsmanship inhabits in a complex place between the hand and the machine.
